Participatory Pokémon GO is a city-wide creative competition. The goal is to support more equitable representation of neighborhoods in the popular mobile game, Pokémon GO.
Participatory Pokémon GO encourages youth across the Boston area to celebrate locations in their neighborhood that have personal, community, or historical significance. These locations can include small parks or historic buildings where something awesome happened. Students will make 60-second videos or write short descriptions explaining why these locations are significant.
Popular videos and descriptions will be sent to Niantic, the company behind Pokémon GO, and may be added to Pokémon GO and future games by Niantic.
